Different strategies that can be employed when dealing with human resource management (HRM) in a foreign division
Managing human resources in a foreign division may create a challenge due to different cultural orientations. Foreign managers from individualistic countries may, for example, face challenges of managing employees from collectivistic cultures with regard to time. For such managers to be effective, they may require to undergo diversity training. diversity training may, for example, help managers to match employees cultural attributes with management practices such as communication of employee performance reviews and motivation approaches best suited for different individuals. As discussed subsequently, other strategies may also help managers to be effective in diverse cultures.
